About the Course

The B.A. Economics program commenced in 1980 at Bishop Kurialacherry College for Women, Amalagiri, is a foundation of intellectual exploration and empowerment. The department also adopted FYUGP program in 2024 . Designed to instil critical thinking and analytical skills, this undergraduate program offers a comprehensive understanding of economic principles, theories, and their applications in real-world contexts. From microeconomics to macroeconomics, development studies to public finance, and international economics the curriculum bridges the gap between classical knowledge and contemporary challenges. Beyond academics, the program emphasizes holistic development through seminars, debates, and community outreach, fostering socially conscious graduates equipped for diverse career paths or advanced studies. At its core, the B.A. Economics program is a transformative journey that nurtures informed, responsible citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to society and the global economy.
