Birds Club International (BCI) was implemented in Kerala by Dr. Sugatha Kumari, a prominent poet, environmentalist, and social activist, alongside like-minded individuals passionate about nature conservation. The initiative sought to connect environmental consciousness with cultural and educational values, inspiring communities to participate actively in bird and habitat conservation.The club emphasizes collaboration with schools, colleges, and local organizations, making Kerala a vibrant hub for BCI activities and promoting awareness about the importance of biodiversity and sustainable living.
Jayaraj, an acclaimed filmmaker in Kerala, played a significant role in shaping Birds Club International (BCI). He co-founded the initiative, blending his passion for nature and art to inspire environmental conservation through creative and educational means.Jayaraj's involvement in BCI reflects his commitment to raising awareness about bird conservation and ecological balance. Under his guidance, BCI has undertaken several impactful activities, such as promoting eco-friendly lifestyles, organizing nature camps, and involving schools in conservation efforts. Jayaraj’s influence also brings a cultural and artistic perspective to the club, using media and storytelling to highlight the importance of safeguarding biodiversity.
Director Jayaraj inaugurated Birds Club International in our colleges on 28th July 2017. The inauguration of Birds Club International in colleges marks the beginning of a transformative journey toward environmental conservation and awareness. It symbolizes a commitment to nurturing a sustainable relationship with nature while empowering students to take active roles in protecting bird species and their habitats. It also inspires the campus community to participate in birdwatching, habitat restoration, and conservation initiatives.
In our campus , Birds Club International (BCI) engages in various activities like tree planting initiatives,creation of bird friendly spaces and identification of the bird species to promote bird conservation .These activities aim to involve the community, especially youth and students, in preserving bird species and habitats.
